Intimate Downtown Kansas City Engagement | Carra + Greg

Engagement

June 25, 2020

There is no hiding that business this year has been hard.

Bookings were down, weddings are postponed, and engagement sessions had to be pushed several times to accommodate new mandates.

Running a business is harder than ever but I have to say I have the most understanding, loyal, and loving couples. As I have had to push through new hills to keep up with the world I have been so blessed to have couples like Carra and Greg who were patient, kind, and oh so great as we all figured out when we could do their engagement session.

Carra and Greg’s engagement session was one of the most original ones I have done yet. They wanted to do downtown Kansas City is a way no one else has. They wanted new locations and end at Power and Light where they met and got engaged!

We started at the gorgeous Loose Park in downtown Kansas City, right off the Plaza area. There we met up with their beloved puppy, Louie. Louie was a treat all in himself. He was crazy, funny, and so spunky. He would listen so well for moments at a time then all of a sudden just bounce up in the air and lick everyone’s face. Then be calm again. He really knows how he is supposed to act, but he also loved showing his true personality with me.

After Loose Park, we made a beautiful stop at the amazing Union Station, and not for the fountains… I am telling you they really wanted a unique and wonderful engagement session. We utilize places at Union Station that I never get to use and the fountain is always everyone’s go-to. we also made a quick stroll to the street to get an iconic downtown Kansas City backdrop.

Have you ever just drove around the central area of downtown Kansas City? If not, you need to. There are so many places that have a Boston, Massachusetts feel, or the beautiful Washington D.C. vibe. When Carra and Greg mentioned they wanted to do something different in downtown than everyone else. I knew exactly what to do.

Downtown Kansas City tour.

I wish we had more time as there were a million more places I could have taken them, but I at least stopped at all my favorite little places.

To top the evening off we went to Power and Light and took advantage of their beautiful twinkle lights.

Thank you Carra and Greg for being amazing, thoughtful, and kind. I cannot wait for your wedding this coming January!
