Brittany and Austin’s wedding day was a dream for me.
It all started with the fact I had more than enough time to get breath-taking bridal images in their adorable Air BnB located in downtown Kansas City. Most brides do not give enough time for bridal portraits or do not see the importance of them. The time after you put your dress on is the only time in the day you can get images like this. Sitting on a couch, looking out a window, admiring your dress. Your loved ones just admiring your beauty.
These images are just not possible later on when bridal party portraits are happening. Space out 30 minutes to do just these images. This will allow time for your photographer to clean up the room, arrange furniture, move items, pose you, and you will not be rushed.
The bridesmaids… oh my gosh. These girls were wonderful. They truly loved Brittany to pieces and they all had the best time together all day. It was great seeing this connection between women acting like school girls again. To see their real personalities, smiles, and laughs all day was a highlight to my entire day.
The connection Brittany and her dad had was unbelievable. He was tearing up just walking to the first look location. He was somber, answering my questions quietly but fully, when I asked him if he is ready to see his daughter his tears started to flow. That made my own heart oh so happy for the day my Lorelai and Justin get to have that moment…
Brittany walked up behind him, told him to turn around. She took her father in her arms and embraced him for the first time in his life.
Brittany and Austin opted to wait to see each other until the ceremony. Tears filled everyone’s eyes in the church. Brittany was a walking goddess and Austin was beaming with love for his bride.
Brittany is not from Kansas City, so finding locations for photos was up to me. I suggested Nelson Atkin’s Museum and I knew with her taste and style, this location would be perfect.
Oh- man, was I right… Her dress, those columns, their romance.
fanning myself as I type.. hot hot HOT!
Portrait location is everything on your wedding day. You do not want to overwhelm your schedule but you do want to do to locations that fit your wedding style.
Brittany and Austin headed off to The Bardot to where they enjoyed their cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and a sparkler send-off.
They ended their evening with one last dance with just the two of them.
